With social distancing in full effect, students have been strongly advised to remain indoors. After a while, things inside can get a bit boring. Thankfully, the internet has taken this into consideration and is offering plenty of livestreams and feeds to keep users entertained.

Music

Our favorite musicians and artists are stuck at home, too, but that hasn’t stopped them from performing. They’ve been using resources such as Instagram Live to provide fans with either private, more intimate concerts or at-home raves. DJ D-Nice’s most recent live party even had former First Lady Michelle Obama participating! Musicians such as Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard, Garth Brooks, Miley Cyrus and more have been utilizing the platform to get their music out to fans.

We’re all used to watching Netflix with friends and family, but social distancing may have put a stop to it. Luckily, there is a way to give you and others the opportunity to have a watch party. The Netflix Party Chrome Extension allows members of a party to watch the same content in real time, allowing them to chat and enjoy a virtual social experience.

Museums and Zoos

Several museums and zoos are offering their collections online amidst the crisis. New York’s MoMA, Paris’ Musee d’Orsay, and more are offering virtual tours of their galleries and exhibitions. Meanwhile, several of the nation’s best zoos have set up live feeds where users can watch some of their favorite animals throughout the day.

Northern Lights

Another interesting live streaming opportunity comes from the Churchill Northern Studies Center in Manitoba, Canada. Here, they have a live feed set up to let users see the infamous northern lights from their homes. It might be perfect timing because the lights are best visible around this time of year at 10 p.m. EDT.
