On Saturday, February 18, at 6 p.m. the Blazer Male Excellence Network (BMEN) will celebrate 15 years of mentoring excellence during their annual awards dinner. Over the course of the evening, BMEN will recognize academic achievers, community and campus champions, spring and summer graduates, and award the Green Blazer of Excellence- the highest honor given to a BMEN student. 

BMEN is a peer-mentoring program dedicated to improving the quality of life and retention rates of Black male students attending UAB. The program helps Black men successfully transition to college by partnering them with extensively trained returning students who act as mentors.

Celebrate BMEN’s crystal anniversary by purchasing a ticket. Tickets are $50 with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the organization’s scholarship program. The event will take place at Haven located at 2515 6th Ave S, Birmingham, AL 35233.
