Student Experience

Traciana Headshot RedThe second installment of UAB's Lecture Series will feature singer, innovator and inspirational speaker Traciana Graves on Wednesday, March 21 in the Blazer Hall RLC. An acclaimed lecturer, Graves will talk about how students can make UAB's diverse campus community stronger using best practices of inclusion, engagement and leadership.

There will be two opportunities to hear Graves lecture, which is entitled, "Five Keys to Building a Strong Campus Community." The first lecture begins at 5 p.m. and the other will follow at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m.

Before becoming a lecturer, Graves toured as a singer with well-known artists like Celine Dion and six-time Grammy award-winner Steel Pulse. Her time on tour sparked her interests in developing curriculum for orphanages and international businesses. This led to her founding the campaigns "Say Something Beautiful" and "Project Bully Free Zone," which serve to end bullying in the workplace and promote higher education in institutions and schools.

The Lecture Series Committee is made up of students and faculty members who come together and invite producers, authors, community activists and other notable figures to discuss topics centered around current events, leadership, social responsibility and history.
