UAB Lecture Series returns with another riveting guest, Jim Obergefell. The LGBTQ and civil rights activist will be in the Hill Student Center Ballroom CD, on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017 at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Obergefell is best known for the famous Supreme Court case Obergefell v. Hodges that won the right for same sex marriages to be legal in America. He will share his experience on being a plaintiff in this case and how his will to stand for what he believed in sparked a monumental change for the LGBTQ community.

Following his lecture, there will be a question and answer session.
