Spring Semester parking permits go on sale for students and employees.

Students

Spring parking permit sales begin on December 10, 2018. If students do not have a permit for the Spring Semester, they may purchase a hangtag online at www.uab.edu/transportation.

A limited number of ZONE A, ZONE B, ZONE C, and LOT 07 permits will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis. Students seeking to change from their current permit to a different option will need to come in-person to the Transportation Office at 608 8th Street South between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday.

Employees

For the first time in more than a decade, employee parking rates in some locations will increase beginning Jan. 1, 2019, and UAB employees will no longer be able to park in student lots.

Rate increases are as follows:

  • Full-time deck rates are increasing from $50 to $58.34 per month
  • Full-time perimeter lots from $11 to $14 per month
  • Full-time lot prices will remain the same
  • Part-time deck and lot prices are increasing from $25 to $36.68 and $33.34, respectively
  • Part-time perimeter lot rates will go from $11 to $14 per month.
  • Adjunct deck, lot and perimeter prices will also increase.

Rate increases were determined using the comprehensive parking and transportation study, conducted in 2016 and which helped UAB develop a five-year plan to manage existing and future demand, create a more fiscally sustainable transportation system and improve customer service for the entire enterprise.
