UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM

The Department of Communication Studies is concerned with human interaction and communication in all its forms. Students in the department may major in Communication Management or Mass Communication.
The Communication Management major is designed for students interested in the general principles of communication from interpersonal relationships to the theory and practice of public dialogue.
The Mass Communication major allows students to specialize in journalism, broadcasting, or public relations.
Minors are available in each of the majors offered by the department. Students may pursue a double major in the degree concentrations or minor in the other. A minor is required for a degree from this department.

The Arts and Humanities interdisciplinary Film Minor will be having an information meeting for students who are interested in learning more about the minor. The Film Minor requires 21 hours of coursework
which can overlap with coursework required by any Arts and Humanities major.
Film Minor courses are offered in African American Studies, Art, Communication Studies, Digital Community Studies, English, Foreign Languages and Literatures, History, Music, and Theatre.
