“Bridging Cultures Through Languages”

Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center
300 Tallapoosa, Montgomery

The City of Montgomery
We’re very excited about plans for next-year’s conference! We’ve chosen the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center, next to the beautifully restored Union Station in Downtown Montgomery, and you will be amazed at the transformations in the riverside area of the Capital City! New restaurants are opening, new music venues, all surrounding the newly renovated Civic Center! Next door is the famous Lek’s Thai restaurant, and across the street, The Hank Williams Museum. Just a couple of blocks away, one of Montgomery’s favorite restaurants, The Brewery, serves great sandwich plates and a wide array of ales and beers. You’re familiar with other nearby Montgomery landmarks, such as the Civil Rights Monument, the Capitol, the Archives and History building, the Civil War Monument, and the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Church.

The Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center
The hotel itself is a beautiful piece of architecture, with a garden atrium with rock islands, bridges, fountains and several areas for conversations with friends. The hotel has spacious, newly redecorated two-room suites, a manager’s reception nightly, and a complementary cooked-to-order breakfast.

Making Hotel Reservations
We’re alsovery pleased that the hotel management is giving us a very reasonable rate for these beautiful suites—less than what most single hotel rooms cost. The code for booking the hotel rooms is “AFL.” Use it when booking at the local hotel, 1-800-Embassy (362-2779) or online at www.embassysuites.com.

The room rates are $109.00 triple and $129.00 quad, and includes a full cook-to-order breakfast each morning and a manager’s reception each evening. The block is only for the dates of the conference: 1/31/2008, 2/1/2008 and 2/2/2008. Reservations received after 1/1/2008 12a.m. will be provided on a space-available basis at the regular rate. All reservations must be accompanied by a first-night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card. The hotel will not hold any reservations unless secured by one of those methods.
