Symposium of Top Health Concerns for Members of the LGBT Community
The Alliance presented a Symposium of Health Concerns for members of the LGBT community on Friday, October 28, 2011. The presentations were invaluable, and we are extremely grateful to those health care professionals who took time out of their busy days to share their insights. Selection of topics for this presentation was made based on availability of both time and presenters. The organizers realize there are many other important health care issues that are of concern to the LGBT community.
Immediately following this program, MedPride at UAB and The Office of Student Success Programs at the UAB School of Medicine presented the program: "LGBT Patient-centered care." The speaker was Ms. Shane Snowdon, Director, LGBT Resource Center, University of California, San Francisco.
