ART HISTORY RESOURCES:
The libraries of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of Alabama, Tuacaloosa, the Birmingham Public Library, and the Birmingham Museum of Art hold more than 75,000 art volumes and subscribe to more than 300 fine arts periodicals. The Slide Library has a collection of over 86,000 slides. The Birmingham Museum of Art is a major regional museum with comprehensive collections of Asian art, American and Contemporary art, and eighteenth-century painting and Decorative arts. The Birmingham Museum of Art, the archives and historical collections of the Birmingham Public Library, and the collection of the Gulf States Paper Corporation are valuable resources for students.
