Areas of specialization: Art of India/South Asia, and the
Himalayas.
She
received Master of Arts degrees from the University of London
and The Ohio State University, and is currently completing
her doctoral work at Ohio State. Her current research focuses
on the iconography of an eighth-century Hindu temple in
south India, considering the temple's iconographic program
in relation to temple patronage, dharmic kingship
and yogic practice. Other research interests include Marathi
illustrated manuscripts of the Deccan and South India, seventeenth
century Mewari painting; and Hindu architecture. Recent
publications include several articles in the exhibition
catalogue, The Circle of Bliss: Buddhist Meditational
Art.
