The Sculpture area is housed on the ground floor of the Hulsey Center (Room 120). Facilities include a classroom with equipment for woodworking, a plaster room, and welding room. A variety of courses are taught in the curriculum from Three Dimensional Design (ARS 102) to Advanced Sculpture (ARS 420) and opportunities exist for Internships in Sculpture at local foundries and Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark Metal Arts Center. The area engages both formal and conceptual issues at all levels, while exploring a mix of traditional and non-traditional materials and processes. Students create works that range from small-scale objects to large-scale installations, time-based works, performances, and outdoor site-specific pieces.
