Jay M. McDonald, M.D.--Role of Ca2+/Calmodulin Signaling in the Pathogenesis of Disease


The role of calcium calmodulin and related signaling pathways are being investigated in osteoporosis, AIDS pathogenesis and diabetes. Specifically, research is focused on the role of calmodulin in osteoclast function, HIV-1 mediated apoptosis and tyrosine kinase signaling pathways in diabetes and insulin resistance.
