My primary research focus is on functional brain imaging and the development of new tracers for the evaluation of rheumatic and inflammatory diseases. My research in brain imaging focuses on the functional and metabolic characteristics of the stroke penumbra, and how these parameters relate to stroke recovery prognosis. My interest in molecular imaging centers around developing novel tracers for the early detection of inflammatory and other diseases which have significant potential for the elucidation of the very early molecular changes in the disease process.
