Artist Lecture: Titus Kaphar, Friday, September 22 | 5 pm
Opening Reception, Friday, September 22 | 6 - 8 pm
AEIVA Hess Lecture Hall and Gail and Jeffrey Bayer Grand Atrium

Blood Equality was launched in 2015 in partnership with Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC), FCB Health, and artist Jordan Eagles’ Blood Mirror project to stop discrimination against prospective blood donors and allow everyone an equal opportunity to donate blood. One In Our Blood is a comprehensive, city-wide program of events and exhibitions, conceived and coordinated by Birmingham Curator Paul Barrett, building on the work of Blood Equality. Core components of One In Our Blood include the exhibition of Jordan Eagles’ Blood Equality sculptures, blood projections, and Leo Herrera’s related video documentary at AEIVA. Eagles will be present for the opening reception of Blood Equality. For more information visit the Blood Equality website.

Free and open to the public, refreshments provided. Prior to the lecture, the gallery will be open to AEIVA members only.
