Dr. Wayne Flynt is Professor Emeritus in the Department of History at Auburn University.  He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in History from Florida State University.  Dr. Flynt is Editor-in-Chief of the online Encyclopedia of Alabama.  He has devoted his life to bringing the issues of history and poverty and their social impact to the forefront of the public’s consciousness.  He is an award-winning author of twelve books, two of which were nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.  Dr. Flynt’s most recent book is Keeping the Faith: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Lives, University of Alabama Press, 2010.
