Mr. Grimes is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the department and serves as Director of the Pre-Law Program. He is the former Head Coach of UAB's nationally recognized and award winning Mock Trial team. Under his guidance, the team won a number of honors, including the American Mock Trial Association's National Tournament in 2006.

Mr. Grimes also serves as an ex-officio member of the UAB Pre-Law Advisory Board, a group of 15 members of the Birmingham Bar who oversee the Pre-Law Program.
Mr. Grimes teaches a number of undergraduate law and law-related courses, including cold case analysis, criminal procedure, trial advocacy, legal research and writing, and mediation.
