There are several requirements for becoming a member of Alpha Phi Sigma. The student:
- must be a declared criminal justice major or minor;
- must have completed a minimum of 12 hours of criminal justice courses;
- must have a GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale in all criminal justice courses completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale for all completed university courses; and
- must be in the top 35% of his or her class.
The group also sponsors various scholarships for undergraduate students.
