Professor Tapped to Serve Children Around the World Print E-mail
jerry_aldridge_storyJerry Aldridge, Ed.D., professor emeritus in the UAB School of Education, now is a representative to the United Nations for the World Organization for Early Childhood Education.  

World OMEP, a non-profit child advocacy organization, has national committees in more than 60 countries divided into five geographical regions: Africa, Asia and the Pacific Rim, Europe, Latin America and North America and the Caribbean.


Aldridge will serve with two other appointees — one from Boston, the other from Italy. Together, they will help families and communities around the world educate their children.

“It is humbling,” Aldridge says. “There is so much work to do in the world that it is hard to know where to start.”
