Teaching Experience:
Kirsten has taught a variety of classes within the social sciences as an independent instructor, a teaching assistant and as a guest lecturer, in both on-ground and on-line formats. Classes include Introduction, Sociology of Religion, Drugs and Society, Sports and Society, Cultural Diversity, Family, Applied Sociology, Research Methods, Child Growth and Development, Quantitative Methods in Public Health, and Applied Theory.
In addition to her volunteer experience, Kirsten is involved in professional affiliations and has certifications, including Professional Development, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Online Design & Teaching. She has participated in service work as a session chair and organizer for several conferences, been a reviewer for original research manuscript submissions, and was invited to present her dissertation topic at a local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma’s International Society for Key Women Educators. In her non-academic time, Kirsten enjoys playing in a community handbell choir.
