The Foreign Languages Advisory Committee Scholarship

The Foreign Languages Scholarship is given annually to students in the department. Applicants must be enrolled in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and must maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average. Application available here

 

Le Club F and L'Alliance Française de Birmingham French Language Study Abroad Scholarship
Applicants must be enrolled in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature and a French major or minor and must maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average. The scholarship will be awarded to a French major or minor student that plans to study aboard.

Lehmeyer Endowed Award in German

The Lehmeyer Endowed Award in German all applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree-granting program at UAB with a minor or equivalent in German.  Eligible students must have completed, or be enrolled in, at least six credit hours of German classes at UAB.  Applicants should have earned at least an overall 3.0 grade point average in coursework completed prior to the time of application.  Preference will be given to applicants who are deserving of financial assistance. 


Fiesta Scholarship
Attention Hispanic Heritage Students. This scholarship is provided by a generous donation from FIESTA, Birmingham's premiere celebration of Hispanic culture and heritage.  See http://www.fiestahbc.com.  Merit-based scholarships of $1,000.00 each will be awarded for continuing or entering local university students of Hispanic heritage for the 2011-2012 academic year.   Eligible students from all majors will be considered.  Qualified students must:
  • Self-identify as Hispanic
  • Have minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Be active in Manos Juntas and/or other Hispanic groups on UAB campus
  • Be a volunteer at FIESTA
  • Promote Hispanic culture on UAB campus and community
