Communications Specialist
Rebecca Rogers is a Scientist I and Lab Manager in CEDHARS. Originally from Dallas, Texas, she received a BA in Sports Medicine from Austin College and a MS in Kinesiology, emphasis in Kinesiology, at Texas Woman’s University. Rebecca is joining us from Samford University where she served as the Coordinator of Kinesiology Labs and Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology. During her time at Samford, Rebecca managed faculty-led and undergraduate research specializing in ergogenic aids, physical activity trackers, and general exercise performance.
Previously, Rebecca served as a research assistant with the UAB/Lakeshore Research Collaborative in 2014-2015 where she conducted fitness and performance testing on youth and adults with physical disabilities for multiple projects. Rebecca became passionate about accessibility and inclusion in graduate school at Texas Woman’s University when a professor gave her the opportunity to work as an activity specialist for various adapted recreational sports programs including Project INVEST (Injured Veterans Entering Sports Training) and AWAVE (Adapted Water Activity Venues for Everyone). Rebecca is excited to use her expertise in health and exercise research to promote access and inclusion of people with disabilities in all areas of science and research.
