The Data Coordinating Center Core was designed to provide data analysis, data capture, data management, and study design services and support to accelerate investigator productivity and advance scientific discoveries in disability health and rehabilitation science research.

Consultation 

The Core Director, Dr. Tapan Mehta opens a new website, and Core Associate Director, Dr. Navneet Baidwan opens a new website, have an extensive background in providing data analysis and study design services in the fields of disability health, rehabilitation science, and other areas of study impacting people with disabilities. Mehta and Baidwan and their team offer consultation services for investigators requiring expert guidance in data analytics, data capture, data management, data informatics, study planning and design. We are open to all UAB investigators as well as other investigators in the research community. Please contact us for more information and pricing.

Services

This core provides advice, recommendations, and support for many aspects of developing and coordinating research data, including but not limited to:

  • Study Design: We support clinical and community research by providing guidance during the planning and implementation phases of disability health and rehabilitation science studies. Drs. Mehta and Baidwan and their team can assist in many aspects of experimental design and implementation including quantitative approaches.
  • Sample Size Calculations
  • Randomization within REDCap
  • Data Informatics, Data Capture, and Data Management: We provide data informatics support for disability health and rehabilitation sciences studies. We will provide support in data informatics which can include services such as data set up, survey building, and electronic data capture and data management.
  • Data Analysis: We provide data analysis assistance and support for research related to disability health and rehabilitation sciences. Drs. Mehta and Baidwan and their team offer a wide array of data analysis techniques specific to the needs of your study. These include the application of statistical techniques, analysis of large observational data, analyses and associations of large data sets, and/or machine learning-related work.
