Now that the 2010-2011 flu season is upon us, it is important for everyone to take preventive actions in order to fight the flu germs.  The CDC recommends a three-step approach.  Most importantly, everyone aged 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine.  Vaccines are available at your local health departments, doctors' offices, and most drug and grocery store chains.  If, however, you get the flu, prescription antiviral drugs are available from your doctor to treat your illness.  Early treatment is especially important for the elderly, very young, pregnant women, and people with certain chronic health conditions.  Finally, everyday preventive actions may slow the spread of germs that cause illnesses such as the flu.  More information is available at www.flu.gov, or you may download and read the following brochures:
