History
The three programs in the division of Clinical Laboratory Sciences are the B.S. in Medical Technology , the B.S. in Cytotechnology and the M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Sciences. Started in 1945, the Medical Technology program was one of the first programs developed in the UAB Medical Center. Seven hundred, sixty-two students have completed the MT program. The Cytology program began in1963 and has graduated 154 students. The graduate program in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, jointly sponsored by the Division and the Department of Pathology of the School of Medicine, was started in 1968. There have been 27 graduates from this program.
