Clinical Laboratory Scientist trains a new student in the
techniques of analysis for infectious mononucleosis.
Medical technologists who wish to be more involved in
education will seek advanced education. They are often
responsible for orientation/training of new laboratory employees
and other health care employees who interact with the laboratory.
In addition to teaching, evaluation of learned competencies
(knowledge and skills) must be performed periodically. The
medical technologist involved in education prepares practical and
written exams for employees. Medical technologists teach medical
technology students in clinical practice in the clinical
laboratory and may also serve as lecturers or consultants in an
academic setting.
