Mobile District Dental Society Aids Dentistry Students

A gift from the Mobile District Dental Society has created a new annual scholarship for students at the School of Dentistry at UAB. The Mobile District Dental Society Endowed Scholarship is open to students who are residents of, have graduated high school from, or have earned an undergraduate degree at an institution of higher learning in one of the counties represented by the society: Mobile, Baldwin, Choctaw, and Washington. The society’s members include dentists from these counties, and the organization is one of nine district-based groups within the Alabama Dental Association. The inaugural recipient is Erin Bilbo Bishop from Fairhope, Alabama.

“We are extremely pleased that the Mobile District Dental Society Scholarship is now fully endowed,” says School of Dentistry Dean Huw F. Thomas, Ph.D. “The School of Dentistry has a great and distinguished history of enrolling students from this district. The scholarship will help us recruit the best and brightest students from that area.”
