Health Day
Equal
Access Birmingham will hold 3 Women's Health Days this
year. UASOM students with the help of UAB
OB-Gyns will provide breast exams, pelvic exams, pap smears,
chlamydia and gonorrhea testing, OraQuick HIV testing and
counseling, and women's health education. Patients will
mostly come from
local women's shelters that help us to organize the event.
EAB would like to thank Cytyc and Hologic for donating ThinPrep
pap smear kits, UAB Cytology for reading the pap smears,
and the Alabama state lab for donating and reading the chlamydia/gonorrhea
tests. If you are interested in attending one of our Women's
Health Days as a patient or volunteering as a medical professional,

Cahaba
Valley Health Care Screenings Equal
Access Birmingham helps recruit volunteers for these screenings
(which are organized by Cahaba Valley Health Care). Dates
are listed below. Volunteer opportunities at these events
include:
• Taking general health histories
• Manual blood pressure screening
• Chart review
• The time commitment is 1:00-4:00 on the given
