UAB graduate Kimberly S. Greene was recently named chair of the Board of Directors, CEO, and president of Georgia Power, effective March 31, 2023.

Greene, who received an MS in biomedical engineering from UAB, has held a variety of leadership roles within Southern Company, including, most recently, chair, president, and CEO of Southern Company Gas. She spent five years as chief financial officer and chief risk officer at the Tennessee Valley Authority before moving to Southern Company in 2013.

In addition to her BME master’s degree, she also has a BS in engineering science and mechanics from the University of Tennessee and an MBA from Samford University.

Greene was inducted into the Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame in 2014.
