Campus Map and DirectionsThe UAB Campus map contains commonly visited locations at UAB. To find facilities and student parking, simply select a category, or search by keyword. You may also view or download a printable campus map.
Most IEM classes meet in the Business-Engineering Complex (BEC) which is located at 1150 10th Avenue South. Sometimes we meet in Hoehn, which is located at 1075 13th Street.
Parking at UAB can sometimes be a challenge. Lot 15 is designated for student parking across campus but a parking permit (hang tag) is required to park in these lots or you will be ticketed. There is some metered parking available around BEC and Hoehn, but it is very limited. Use the following link to find out more about parking at UAB: Parking
CanvasMost IEM courses use an online learning management system called Canvas. You must have a BlazerID to log into the system at http://www.uab.edu/online/canvas

Blazer IDThe BlazerID is critical. Once you are accepted to graduate school, you should get a BlazerID ASAP. A BlazerID is a unique user name that allows you to access a number of UAB computer services and facilities. Your BlazerID uniquely identifies you and the access you need. A valid BlazerID is required to access the UAB wireless network (UABWifi), campus email, campus computer labs, etc. A BlazerID is needed to register for classes. The BlazerID Central page is located at http://www.uab.edu/blazerid. The BlazerID Signup / Registration form is at the bottom of the page. You will need some basic information:
- A strong password
- Your social security number
- Your date of birth
Forget Your Password? If you forget your password, go to BlazerID Central and click on the link to change your password. You will be asked for some personal information and a phone number where you will be for the next hour or so. If you are not going to be near a phone for the next hour, wait for a later time. The AskIT Help Desk must contact you by telephone in order to complete the password reset process! Fill out the online form and wait for the AskIT Help Desk to call you - they will help you reset your password. Note: Your BlazerID must be at least 3 characters long and no more than 8 characters long. However, you can add up to three mail-only aliases, each of which can be 3 to 16 upper/lowercase letters and numbers. These will all forward to the same mailbox, either one you already have or one you get from UAB. For more information, visit BlazerID Central at http://www.uab.edu/blazerid.
