What to Expect When Reporting to the UAB Ethics Hotline

The UAB Ethics Hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by trained professionals who ensure reports are made to appropriate university personnel for follow-up.  Callers reporting concerns should be prepared to answer specific questions regarding the time and location of the incident, who was involved, if there were any witnesses to the incident, and any details that would be helpful in conducting a review to arrive at a determination.  Or you may report a concern online by clicking on the "To File a Report Online" button on the right.  On the website, you will be asked to enter information into requested fields.

To maintain your anonymity, when reporting by phone or online, you will be assigned a report number which you will need when you call back to add information or check the status of your report at a later date.  FOR ANONYMOUS REPORTS, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE THE FOLLOW-UP CALL IN CASE OTHER INFORMATION IS NEEDED FOR CLARIFICATION OR TO RECEIVE THE FINDINGS OF THE REVIEW.
