The UAB Arabic Club, or the society of Ibn Khaldun, was created
because of
the growing demand of Arabic learning at UAB. If you are interested- join us!

The Society of Ibn Khaldun will meet at 6 p.m. in the education building, rm.126.
Where...
Location changes, check with the club for location information.
We welcome everybody to our meetings and hope you decide to become a member.
As a member, you will be involved in make decisions such as elections, our upcoming activities,
and community services!
Every Monday at lunch (12-1) we invite you to join us at the HUC cafe for the Lute Café.
Just look for our club flag! Our table will be a place for you to practice your language skills,

2007: The Society of Ibn Khadun received the
UAB Student Excellence Award for student organization
program of the year "Zarda: Celebrating Arab Culture."

Ibn Khaldun was a 14th Century philosopher and historian.
He is well-known for his work, Introduction.
He pioneered the way for political science, sociology, economics, and historiography.
Ibn Khaldun is one of North Africa's greatest historical figures.

Arabic Club gives students at UAB a chance to learn about the Arabic-speaking world.
This includes Algeria, Bahrain, Libya, Lebanon, Morocco, Omar, Palestine/Israel,
Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, and more!
Arabic is one of the most widely spoken language in the world by population;
second only to Chinese. It is the most widely spoken language, as it is the official language in 24 countries.
Arabic Club will give the students of UAB a chance to learn about their fascinating cultures,
to learn its language, and more!
