My name is Dima Zeidan; I’m Lebanese, and I’m 22 years old. I just graduated from the American University of Beirut with a BA in Elementary Education and a Minor in English Language and Political Sciences. I participated in two exchange programs, Middle East Partnership Initiative program (MEPI) where I spent 6 weeks in Georgetown University, and International Institute of Economical and Political Studies (IIPES) where I spent almost a month in Greece taking a graduate course from Georgetown. The two programs introduced me to Arabs, Europeans, and Americans from varied backgrounds and cultures.
Upon that, I became more tolerant, open-minded, and accepting of the different other. This brought me to FLTA and thus to UAB. It is an honor to teach my language and represent my country and culture. From AUB and from the Lebanese South, I am so excited about spending this year in UAB in the American South.
