Foreign Languages and Literatures at UAB

Lydia Cowser

Lydia Cowser is the Administrative Associate for the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and was January UAB Employee of the Month in 2008. She completed her  B.A. degree in May 2004 from UAB as a Communication Management major and English minor.  She was a member and served as Director of Honorary Member Relations of UAB’s chapter – Golden Key International Honor Society; she was also affiliated with Public Relations Student Society of America during her junior and senior year.  It has been her pleasure to enjoy the diversity and full-time work at UAB for the past 15 years in four departments throughout the campus.  She enjoys traveling, shopping, beautiful botanical gardens, amusement parks, the mountains, beaches, drawing, relaxing with family and friends, and volunteering in local community work.  Lydia is also increasing her fluency in the Spanish language and would like to visit a different country each summer, if possible.  She had the opportunity to briefly study abroad in Cuernavaca, México in July 2007. Eventually, she would like to become fluent in a third language and explore digital photography.
