Foreign Language Scholarship Application

Eligibility Requirements

To apply, you must pursue a B.A. in Foreign Languages at UAB, specializing in the same language of the scholarship for which you are applying.The Department’s scholarships are based primarily on merit.  Financial need may be considered.

To be considered for a Foreign Language Scholarship,
please submit the following:

  • Application. Click here for application form. Please complete this form electronically and print the completed form.

  • Transcript. One (1) copy of your high school and college transcripts (unofficial copy acceptable)

  • Two (2) Recommendations. One should be from a foreign language instructor and from people who know you well and can comment on your academic and career goals. Please use the Department of Foreign Languages & Literatures Recommendation FormCompleted form may be printed and mailed to the address below.

  • Essay. An essay of approximately 1,000-words that responds to the essay prompt in te scholarship description.

Deadlines for Submission

All materials must be received by the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures by
February 13, 2009
