Serge Bokobza (Ph.D., University of Illinois). Associate Professor of French. Licence-ès-Lettres (B.A.) in Comparative Literature and Diplôme d'Etudes Supérieures (Master) in French, both from the University of Paris-X-Nanterre. Doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Specialized in 19th and 20th Century French Literature, in particular the relationship between Literature and Ideology; French Literature Outside France; the Theory of Titles; the Literature of Betrayal and Treason; and the History of Cinema. Published articles on 19th and 20th Century French writers and a book on Stendhal. President of the Alliance Française of Birmingham.
