Don Quijote Study Abroad Scholarship to Spain or Mexico (May 2005)
One scholarship will be awarded.
Application deadline: March 1, 2005
The UAB Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and UAB Study Abroad have been awarded a scholarship to Spain or Mexico for which UAB students will be able to compete to travel in May 2005. The study abroad scholarship is sponsored by Don Quijote – In Country Spanish Language Courses, Spain’s largest provider of in-country Spanish courses in Spain and Mexico. Out of twenty scholarships awarded worldwide, only nine went to schools in the United States – UAB and Johns Hopkins University being two of the winners. The scholarship project aims to promote the Spanish language worldwide and rewards institutions for “going the extra mile to encourage their students to learn foreign languages and Spanish in particular”. The scholarship includes a two-week intensive Spanish course in Spain or Mexico, accommodations, and events aimed at “helping them integrate into local life, explore local culture, and focus on a truly ‘immersive’ learning experience”.
All UAB students currently enrolled in Spanish are eligible to apply. The competition is open to all Spanish students currently enrolled in Spanish (regardless of major).
Special Instructions: Use the standard PDF application form for Spanish scholarships and disregard the Spanish major requirement.
