Students in the Microbiology Graduate Theme have the opportunity to specialize in Bacteriology or Virology via defined tracks within the program. Students interested in other microbes or areas of research will find ample opportunity to develop their research interests through the selection of specific courses, journal clubs, seminars, and research training.
All students are provided with financial support that includes a full stipend of $29,000 for 2015-2016, $500 relocation allowance, tuition and fees. There are no teaching or other specific requirements beyond those of the academic program. Pursuit of the Ph.D. degree is a full-time endeavor, and no other remunerative work is allowed. Continuous registration and satisfactory academic standing are required during all terms.
