The Gene Therapy Center at UAB serves as the nidus for campus wide gene therapy activities at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The Gene Therapy Center embraces the Division of Human Gene Therapy, a conjoint division of the Departments of Medicine, Pathology, Surgery, and Obstetrics and Gynecology which serves as the vehicle of gene therapy faculty advancement within UAB. Center activities span the breadth from the basic science of vectorology to the implementation of human clinical trials within our mission aegis. This mission also includes diverse training opportunities with specific programs to provide gene therapy education of the pre-doctoral and post-doctoral levels.
