About the Campaign for UAB

President Ray Watts has set a goal for UAB to be one of the most dynamic and productive universities of the 21st century and attain a vision to be an internationally-recognized research university a first choice for education and health care. During this campaign, we will raise $1 billion that will enable us to expand educational and cultural opportunities, advance research and patient care, and fuel economic development. We can accomplish this by aligning our resources with our aspirations.

President's Message

“With your support, we will transform the future.”

President Ray Watts portraitLives are changed every day through the simple act of giving to UAB. Patients receive life-saving care. Students receive the opportunity to pursue educational and career goals. Birmingham and our entire state is made stronger through discoveries that lead to economic impact. And our lives are enriched by the visual and performing arts.

As we enter the third year of the public phase of the Campaign for UAB, the largest and most comprehensive philanthropic campaign in our university’s history, we remain steadfast in our ambitious commitment to raise $1 billion. Every gift to the Campaign is a vital step toward transforming UAB, our community, and the world.

Our campaign theme says it best: “Give Something, Change Everything.”
