Welcome to the Department of Government.  The Department offers programs of study leading to the Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and the Master of Public Administration degree. 

The Department provides a comprehensive undergraduate curriculum in Political Science which prepares students for careers in law, public service, electoral politics, policy analysis, and advanced graduate studies in Public Administration.  Undergraduate majors select from two concentrations; American Government and Political Theory; or Comparative Politics and International Relations.  We offer an Honors degree in Political Science and membership in the Upsilon Mu chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society. 

Graduate students select from two concentrations: Nonprofit Management or Public Management and Planning.  Our NASPAA accredited Master of Public Administration program offers graduate students membership in Pi Alpha Alpha, the National Public Administration Honors Society as well as an active network of public servants in the local chapter of the American Society for Public Administration.   In both our undergraduate and graduate programs students are encouraged to participate in public service internships to enhance experiential learning and prepare for future careers.
