SNP Genotyping
The Heflin Center for Genomic Sciences provides SNP genotyping on five different platforms depending on the size and scope of your project. The Illumina BeadXpress system provides cost-effective genotyping for small multiplexes from 48-386 SNPs, and the Illumina iScan and the Affymetrix GeneChip systems can accommodate genotyping for more than 1 million SNPs in a single assay. For low-level genotyping, Pyrosequencing can be used for small numbers of SNPs on a limited number of samples, and the TaqMan Allelic Discrimination can be used for more moderate numbers of SNPs with larger population sizes. All of the above methods work on known SNPs and are not intended for SNP discovery. The options for genotyping using these platforms are:
