The Master of Public Health in Health Behavior (MPH - Plan A)
-
explain and apply social and behavioral science theories as they relate to public health;

critically examine health behavior literature;

develop and implement health promotion/disease prevention programs; and
-
apply evaluation principles and procedures to effectively assess health promotion and disease prevention programs.
The Master of Public Health in Behavioral Science (MPH - Plan B)
- explain and apply social and behavioral science theories and research methods as they relate to public health;
- critically examine health behavior literature;
- develop and implement health promotion/disease prevention programs;
- apply evaluation principles and procedures to effectively assess health promotion and disease prevention programs;
- develop, implement and evaluate behavioral research; and
- gain professional experience
in public health or health care settings.

develop the skills to effectively plan, implement, and evaluate health education/promotion intervention programs;

develop theoretical knowledge from related social and behavioral sciences;

develop the knowledge and skills to become independent researchers, demonstrated by the completion of a dissertation; and
-
complete a substantive research experience integrating the first three objectives.
