David W. Coombs (Ph.D., University of Florida; MPH, UAB; A.B., Notre Dame University) is Vice Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Health Behavior. He is also the Director of Graduate Training in the Department of Health Behavior. Dr. Coombs’ main area of research is suicide prevention and health promotion/disease prevention. He teaches courses in community organization and sociocultural aspects of health and illness in developing countries.
