practiced industrial medicine in Bessemer, Alabama, and served on the staff of Lloyd Noland Hospital in Fairfield. The
Birmingham Medical College was established in 1894 by W.E.B. and J.D.S. Davis as a privately owned medical school. The college
operated in cooperation with Hillman Hospital for several years. In September 1912, the trustees of the medical college transferred all
lands, buildings, equipment and franchises to the trustees of the University of Alabama. The school was gradually closed, allowing the
students to finish their education in Birmingham. The school closed its doors in 1915.
