University Records

Record Groups and Record Series

The UAB Archives describes university records according to the record group concept. Each series of university records is placed within a record group based on its office of origin. Thus, the records of the president of UAB are placed in Record Group 1.3, Office of the President of UAB. Each record group therefore may contain several series of records and may contain records from the different individuals who have held appointments in the particular office.

Below is a list in numerical order of all record groups currently identified by the UAB Archives.  As the archives receives additional records, new record groups and series will be added to this list. For a listing of all identified series within each group of university records, please select Record Group and Series. A more detailed description of each record series, including series scope and contents, history, and folder-level inventory, is available in the UAB Archives.
