18 semester hours of course credit are required for the history minor. To complete a minor in history, you will need to complete one course in U.S. history - either HY 120 or HY 121*; and complete any two of:

HY 101 - Western Civilization I OR HY 104 - World History to 1600

HY102 - Western Civilization II OR HY105 - World History 1600 to Present

HY 120 - The United States to 1877

HY121 - The United States Since 1877

The remaining 9 semester hours of credit can be selected from history electives; 6 hours must be taken at or above the 300-level. A grade of C or better is required in all courses applied to the minor.

*Please Note: HY 101, HY 102, HY 120 and HY 121 may also apply toward Core curriculum Area IV.
