The surgical prep area and the post anesthesia care unit (PACU) are located on the 5th and 7th floors of the North Pavilion adjacent to the operating rooms. The increase in bed capacity for these areas will assist with patient flow. These beds are equipped with bedside computers, and monitors that enhance the nurses' capability to provide care with little need to leave the bedside. The location facilitates the role that the anesthesiologist and the surgeon play in the pre-op prep of the patient and the recovery of the patient in PACU.
