Prerequisites for the MSHA Program:  Six hours of undergraduate accounting with a “B” average should be completed before beginning the program but do not have to be completed before interviewing.  Please note that earning a “B or better in the 4-hour accounting course, AC 210:  Introduction to Accounting, offered at the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) covers the required undergraduate accounting prerequisite. Students applying for the coordinated M.S.H.A./M.B.A. must include 3 hours of calculus.

All international students must also take the TOEFL exam and score at least 550 on the paper-based exam or 213 on the computer-based exam. No degree can be awarded without the successful completion of a 9 – 12 month administrative residency at the end of the academic coursework. Our experience has shown that it is very difficult for international students to obtain an administrative residency in the United States. Consequently, international students must have an administrative residency secured before starting the MSHA program.
