Started as a blog to help parents and students get a grip on college planning, Affluent Student has grown into a full-fledged parenting site. IEM client Paul McGuire shares his no-nonsense approach to parenting through feature-rich articles on Affluent Student. He is working on his first book, aptly named Affluent Student, which will be released in 2012. Paul also offers coaching and speaking as part of his repertoire. His goal - to reach parents as a parent who's been there and done that, to encourage them to be proactive parents and in turn raise empowered, equipped, and enthusiastic kids in the areas of relationships, career, money, lifelong learning, values, morals, and ethics.
Shane Hill started Alabama Tailgate as a blog to help catalog and document my tailgates for the Alabama home games. Today the website includes recipes AND a cookbook authored by Shane. The cookbook can be purchased on Amazon and you can see Shane show off his skills on Alabama's 13 Daytime Alabama.

Brian Cauble and Andria Jensen started Appsolute Genius to enhance the mobile devices people use each day, and make the lives of those who use them easier by doing so. When people leave their house, they grab three things: their keys, wallet/purse, and their phone. In a world where this phone is fast becoming a smartphone, Appsolute Genius creates mobile Apps for smartphones (iPhone, iPad, Android, etc) for companies and the advertising industry. For them, the mobile App is simply a tool to better connect with customers no matter where they go.

The Cobacho brothers are importing shoes from Spain called the alpargata. Made out of durable canvas and a jute sole that, like a good pair of jeans, molds to your body the more you wear it. Alpargatas are an extremely comfortable shoe and probably the most earth friendly since they are made of 100% recyclable materials. Cotton and jute. That's it. No synthetic materials or plastics are used. Follow them at www.cobachoshoes.com.
Home Data Management
T.D. Todd designed Home Data Management to help any individual backup their home computer. Backing up your computer has been broken down into three easy steps: Buy the book. Read the book. Follow the steps in the book. The book takes about an hour to read and about another hour to do your first backup. He wants to help the novice user get started backing up documents, pictures, movies and other digital material they don't want to lose.

In May 2011, I sat down with one of IEM newest graduates about the company
he founded called SportsTech. The company creates mobile application software
for --just what the name says, Sport Tech people. As one example, a baseball coach
can download an app from SportsTech that allows that coach to create drills, track scores,
even has a built in radar gun that allows you to display the speed of a pitch from
any distance in both baseball and softball. View SportsTech Website Here.
