Innovate Fellow

Sachin has been a graduate student at UAB since 2018. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in biomedical engineering, with research focusing on creating the Cardiac Tissue Chips cell culture platform to mature cardiomyocytes for drug testing and disease modeling.

He joined the Harbert Institute in 2021 as an Innovate Fellow for the opportunity to learn more about translating his research from bench to bedside. He is a bike enthusiast and loves going for long rides around Birmingham. He won the Blazer Way Award in 2021, and was named a President’s Diversity Champion in 2022.
